Position Information

The MongoDB Database Administrator will be responsible for the management of all company MongoDB databases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain, monitor, tune, and support existing MongoDB database environments for production, staging, QA and development;
• Troubleshoot any problems that may come up with the database environments: performance issues; replication issues; or operational issues;
• Manage database security, disaster recovery, and capacity planning;
• Architect database schemas and layouts;
• Install, test, validate,and package products to work collaboratively with application;
• Monitor and ensure 24x7x365 databases availability and stable operation

Desired Skills & Experience:

• BS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience;
• Extensive hands on experience (4+ years) in database administration;
• 3+ year experience using NoSQL database
• Experience with MongoDB, replicate, shards, distributed database;
• Proven track record of troubleshooting and resolving database problems;
• Skilled in performance tuning and optimization, using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools;
• Proficient with backup, restore and recovery models;
• Knowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery options;
• Experience with scripting languages, implementing operational automation using scripts
• Experience using hadoop;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work well in a team.

A MongoDB DBA for a migration project. Should be strong in all of the nuances / procedures of moving large amounts of data in and out of MongoDB.

Should be familar with data architeures, database design, validating data with reporting tools like Pentaho

Three terabytes of data , multiple DBA’s on the team. This requires logical & physical data modeling, OLAP, OLTP.

• Extensive knowledge in ER Modeling, Dimensional Modeling (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema) and DataWarehousing, OLAP tools.
• Efficient in Dimensional Data Modeling for Data Mart design, identifying Facts and Dimensions, creation of cubes and Master Data Management (MDM).
• Data Acquisition strategies to extract data from different source systems, created data mappings using different transformations and executed workflows for data loads to target systems. UsingPentaho.
